Set within 40 acres of protected land in East Haddam, Connecticut, The Sanctuary offers a beautiful and unusual setting for retreats, workshops, organizational gatherings, celebrations, and community events.

Gather in our yurt, wander forest trails, visit the beaver pond, sit beneath the trees, and share space with the goats, chickens, and other creatures who call The Sanctuary home.

Rental includes use of the yurt and designated gathering areas, forest and trails, beaver pond, outdoor spaces, bathroom facilities, and parking.

Rental time includes setup and breakdown time.

Mission-Aligned Nonprofit Partner Rates

The Sanctuary is itself a small nonprofit, and we love supporting organizations whose work contributes to the wellbeing of people, animals, forests, and communities.

Reduced partner rates are available for conservation, environmental, educational, arts, and community nonprofits.

Half-Day Partner Gathering — up to 4 hours: $250–275

Full-Day Partner Retreat — up to 8 hours: $500

Homemade sourdough bread, baked goods, herbal teas, soup, and other simple seasonal offerings can be arranged for your gathering.

Programming, food, and overnight accommodations are priced separately according to the size and needs of your group.

Community & Friend Rate

The Sanctuary has always been a place of community. Reduced rates may be available for small grassroots organizations, community projects, artists, educators, and friends whose work aligns with our mission.

Please ask. We would rather have a conversation than have cost alone prevent something beautiful from happening here.

The Sanctuary is not a traditional event venue. It is a living place — forest, wetland, wildlife habitat, home, classroom, playground, and refuge.
