Inanna's Descent to the Underworld

Inanna Queen of Heaven and Earth

Goddess of Ancient Sumer

Inanna’s descent into the underworld is a journey of death and resurrection. Through the gift of writing invented in Sumer, her journey there and back was recorded and preserved for us, like a spiritual set of instructions.

The day includes Xena’s Café for delicious hot & cold teas, baked goods, as well as a 20 minute Circus Yoga embodiment session.

A workshop geared for those wishing to ground personal spiritual exploration and practice with ancient archetypes, or nerds with a penchant for ancient history with a little Xena sprinkled in.

Jen Taylor has spent more than three decades exploring the intersection of mythology, philosophy, ecology, feminism and spirituality. With a Master's degree in Philosophy and Religion, she combines rigorous scholarship with storytelling, embodiment practices and community ritual. Her Goddess Series at The Sanctuary invites participants into a living conversation between ancient wisdom and modern life.
