Shakti Ma has been described as the Janis Joplin of kirtan. A powerful wallah and long-time devotee of Bhakti yoga, Shakti Ma has led many kirtans and healing retreats with her soulful operatic voice. Shakti Ma shares her profound wisdom gained through her inspiring healing story and faith. She is also a nimble player of the harmonium and masterful band leader. This deep musical meditation will leave you blissed out for days. No prior experience necessary. All are welcome.
This kirtan will be outdoors under a midsummer night sky, or inside the yurt if the weather is wet. Guests are invited to bring a picnic dinner and to arrive early to explore the Sanctuary’s 40 acre land trust and meet her free-wheeling animals and humans.
Shakti Ma will be accompanied by the Rainbow Serpent: Tam Zezulka (vocals), Christian George (guitar), Tracey Kroll (drums), Kevin Gallagher (percussion), Justin Good (guitar) and Nick Capozza (bass).
No prior experience necessary. Kirtan is a call-and-response chanting meditation, and you can sing or just listen and dance.
