    <description>An interfaith spiritual life center and environmental education organization. &lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;Located on a 40 acre land preserve &lt;br/&gt;in East Haddam, the Sanctuary &lt;br/&gt;offers sacred space for personal transformation, the evolution of community and the  restoration &lt;br/&gt;of the environment.&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;Our mission is to live in harmony with the environment, to share a spiritual practice inclusive of all and energized by the process of an evolving global consciousness, and to promote sustainable and non-violent ways of livelihood which value and protect our community’s health, wealth and happiness. A 501(c)3 non-profit organization, the Sanctuary is located on a 40 acre land preserve and features a yurt, drumming circle, labyrinth, community garden, apiary, composting toilet eco-temple, walking trails past quiet brooks, beaver ponds and forests. The Sanctuary staff and extended community of artists, teachers and holistic health practitioners offer regular classes and workshops in yoga, circus arts, meditation, environmental education and philosophy, and integral spirituality. The Sanctuary is also available for retreats, workshops and private functions.&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;</description>

      <title>Dirt Floor Concert Series at the Sanctuary</title>

This concert is a joint production of Dirt Floor  Studios and the Sanctuary. &lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;Ian Fitzgerald won best song at this year’s Boston Folk Festival with his tune “Lilian,” a duet with Morgan Even Swain of Brown Bird, and his latest album “Empty Like The Lions Den” was nominated Best Americana album in Boston’s Motif Magazine. Mike Greca and Jen Taylor, who have also recorded at Dirt Floor, both have truly original voices and will round out the evening with a rich assortment of songs. &lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;The concert is starts at 7:30 PM in the Sanctuary yurt. Admission is $20. A picnic dinner at 6 PM is open to the public ($5 donation or potluck contribution.) All ages welcome. Call 860.526.8137 to reserve a seat.&lt;br/&gt;</description>
